Our aim is to make the many benefits of Yoga available to everyone, regardless of their current situation. We are all valuable and equally deserving of Yoga. It is not for a select few but for every body. We offer a friendly, safe and non judgemental environment where to practice, socialise and have fun.
By taking up Yoga you can expect to experience:
- A greater sense of freedom and ease in your day to day life
- Improved strength and balance on a physical and mental level
- Improved tolerance to pain and discomfort
- Better management of stress, anxiety and depression
We offer regular weekly classes in Ayr, Girvan and Troon and are available for oureach projects.
Adult adaptive Yoga classes
These classes are directed at people living with health and/or mobility issues due to age, paralysis, amputation, spinal injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, dementia etc.
All Yoga postures and movements are adapted, sometimes with the use of props and assistants to provide the practitioner the experience of the posture, no matter their situation, condition or lack of confidence.
There is no need to be able to get up and down from the floor, and all venues are wheelchair accessible. The classes include physical movement for those who can, breathing exercises and guided relaxation.
Special needs adult and children’s Yoga classes
These specialist classes provide a gentle introduction to yoga. They are open to all types of special needs such as autism, cerebral palsy, physical and sensory impairments, learning difficulties, Down’s Syndrome, and mental health conditions.
Each class will include an activity to bring everyone together, breath work, a small number of simple yoga postures and quiet time at the end. The emphasis is on fun and connection in a safe, non-competitive space where users and their carers can come together and enjoy the many benefits that yoga can bring. Adaptations will be made throughout the classes to ensure they are as accessible as possible.
